Argon is a high-purity noble gas (99.99999%) used in the food industry for product preservation. It serves as a packaging gas — its inert nature makes it perfectly compatible with food products.

Argon, a noble gas, is primarily used in food preservation as a packaging gas. Its non-reactive nature ensures full compatibility with food items. (Same definition as Ar 5.0.)

Making up 78% of atmospheric air, nitrogen is used for pressurization, purging, and inserting in the petrochemical industry. The food industry also requires large quantities of liquid and gaseous nitrogen for applications such as freezing, packaging, and chilling.

Carbon dioxide is used as a cryogenic fluid for tissue freezing and fire suppression due to its non-flammable nature. Food-grade CO₂ is used in carbonated beverages and food processing applications including refrigeration, freezing, modified atmosphere packaging (MAP), and cold chain transport.

With the lowest boiling point of any element, helium is used across multiple industries. It serves as a cryogenic agent to cool superconducting magnets in medical MRI and NMR equipment.

Large volumes of industrial-grade oxygen are used to improve process efficiency by reducing fuel consumption and lowering CO₂ emissions in chemical, oil, and gas industries. It is also used in metal manufacturing applications such as melting, cutting, and welding.
