Industrial gases

NITROGEN (AZOTE)

Nitrogen is primarily found in the atmosphere: it makes up 78% of the air we breathe. It is also found in other forms.

In its gaseous state, nitrogen is neutral, colorless, tasteless, and non-flammable. It is an inert gas that does not support life.

Identification: Cylinder with a black body and shoulder (ogive), featuring labels for "Nitrogen" or "Dry Nitrogen."

Cylinder Valve: W21.7*1/14’’ MIE-AP7

Applications :

Industry / ActivityApplication
Chemistry (Petrochemicals & Polymers)Protection of product quality and facilities (blanketing)
Food IndustryDeep-freezing to preserve and protect food (used pure or mixed with $CO_2$)
GlassInerting of the tin bath on float glass production lines
HealthcareLow-temperature preservation (cryopreservation) of living cells and tissues
LaboratoryUsed pure or in mixtures for analysis and quality control in industrial and hospital environments
Mechanical/Metal ConstructionHeat treatment of various metals
RefiningProtection of product quality and facilities
SemiconductorsUsed in ultra-pure form for global protection against impurities and oxidation
Other ApplicationsTire inflation

ARGON

Argon is present in the atmosphere at a concentration of 0.9%. A neutral and colorless gas like nitrogen, argon does not support life.

Applications :

Industry / ActivityApplication
Food IndustryPrevents pigment oxidation, limits bacterial growth, protects food from crushing, and reduces the respiration rate of raw vegetables
LaboratoriesUsed pure or in mixtures for analysis and quality management in industrial and hospital environments
Metal ConstructionProtection of welds against oxidation (shielding gas); reduction of welding emissions
SemiconductorsUsed in ultra-pure form for protection against impurities
Steel IndustryStirring and protection of continuous-cast steels against oxidation
Other ApplicationsInflation of automotive airbags

OXYGEN

A colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas, oxygen is essential to life and reacts strongly in the presence of many other chemical substances.

Identification: Cylinder with a gray body and a white shoulder (ogive), featuring labels for "Oxygen."

Cylinder Valve: R5/8’’ W22.91*1/14’’ MIE-AP7

Applications :

Industry / ActivityApplication
Chemistry (Petrochemicals & Polymers)Used in combination with other molecules to manufacture plastics
Food IndustryOxygenation of fish farming tanks
GlassEco-friendly glass melting
Mechanical/Metal ConstructionUsed with a fuel gas (such as acetylene) for welding and cutting
RefiningPlant stimulation and residue recovery (for production of specialty chemicals and electricity)
Pulp and PaperEco-friendly bleaching of paper pulp
SemiconductorsUsed in ultra-pure form for the oxidation of certain materials
AerospaceCryogenic oxidizer for rocket engines
Steel IndustryDecarburization of iron to produce steel and enrichment of blast furnace air
Other ApplicationsBiological water purification, clean waste incineration

ACETYLENE (C2 H2)

A synthetic gas, acetylene is generally produced from the reaction of calcium carbide with water. This gaseous hydrocarbon is colorless, has a distinct garlic-like odor, and is unstable. Highly combustible, acetylene produces a very hot flame (over 3,000°C or 5,400°F) when combined with oxygen.

Identification: Cylinder with a red body and a brown shoulder (ogive), featuring labels for "Acetylene."

Cylinder Valve: Based on ø21ø10/R58’’ left-hand MIE-AP7

Applications :

Industry / ActivityApplication
GlassLubrication of glass bottle production molds
Mechanical/Metal ConstructionCutting and welding (combined with oxygen)

CARBON DIOXIDE (CO2)

A colorless and odorless gas, recovered and purified from industrial processes. We provide application expertise, security of supply, and quality you can count on.

Applications :

In MIG/MAG welding, it serves as a shielding gas, protecting the weld pool from oxidation. Furthermore, when combined with argon, carbon dioxide is used to achieve higher welding speeds and reduce the need for post-weld treatment.
